Job Summary
lead geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design recommendations for company's water infrastructure projects. This role requires a specialist who can assess ground conditions, mitigate geotechnical risks, and ensure that foundations, earthworks, and underground structures are designed and built to withstand local soil and seismic conditions, fully complying with KSA standards.
Your Job
- Site Investigations & Analysis: Plan, oversee, and interpret comprehensive geotechnical site investigations (including soil boring, test pitting, geophysical surveys, and lab testing) for pipeline routes, reservoir sites, pumping stations, and treatment plants.
- Foundation Design & Recommendations: Provide geotechnical design parameters and recommendations for shallow/deep foundations, retaining structures, embankments, and pipeline bedding/support. Act as a subject matter expert in geotechnical aspects of water engineering projects.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify and assess geotechnical risks such as soil settlement, liquefaction, slope instability, and groundwater issues. Develop mitigation strategies and design solutions.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed geotechnical investigation reports, foundation design reports, and earthworks specifications. Ensure all documentation is clear, accurate, and compliant with project requirements.
- Construction Support: Provide ongoing geotechnical support during construction, including review of earthworks procedures, inspection of foundation preparation, and resolution of unforeseen ground condition issues.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all geotechnical work adheres to KSA Water Technical Standards, Saudi Building Codes (SBC), and relevant international best practices (e.g., ASTM, BS).
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with civil design teams, structural engineers, pipeline engineers, and construction managers to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project design and execution.
- Value Engineering: Propose cost-effective and constructible geotechnical solutions that maintain safety and performance standards.
Your Profile
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of dedicated geotechnical engineering experience.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated geotechnical experience on major water/wastewater, infrastructure projects (pipelines, tanks, treatment plants) is required
- Demonstrated experience working on water projects preferably in KSA or GCC countries, bringing international best practices to the role.
- Experience with KSA Water technical standards is highly preferred
- Professional proficiency in Arabic and English (both written and spoken) is a must
