Job Summary

Serve as a technical authority in the design, optimization, and operational control of water and wastewater treatment processes. This senior role requires a principal-level engineer who will ensure our treatment plants operate at peak performance, meet stringent KSA quality standards, and incorporate the latest international advancements in process technology and automation.

Your Job

• Process Design & Optimization: Act as the Principal Process Engineer for the design, review, and optimization of water treatment (desalination, potabilization) and wastewater treatment (biological, tertiary) processes. Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and mass/energy balances.
• Process Control & Automation: Design, implement, and optimize advanced process control strategies for treatment plants. Utilize SCADA/PLC/DCS systems to enhance reliability, reduce chemical consumption, and improve energy efficiency.
  Technical Leadership & Troubleshooting: Serve as the highest-level technical consultant for complex process-related issues, including chemical dosing inefficiencies, membrane fouling, biological system upsets, and effluent quality deviations. Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
  Compliance & Standards Assurance: Ensure all process designs and plant operations fully comply with KSA Water Technical Standards for drinking water quality (SASO) and treated wastewater reuse standards. Prepare and certify compliance documentation.
  Commissioning & Performance Testing: Lead the commissioning and performance testing of new process systems and major upgrades. Develop test protocols, oversee chemical cleaning, and validate plant performance against design guarantees.
  Vendor & Consultant Management: Provide technical oversight of process technology vendors and engineering consultants. Lead technical bid evaluations for process equipment, chemicals, and control systems.
  Research & Development: Champion the evaluation and piloting of new treatment technologies, advanced oxidation processes, and innovative chemical solutions to improve efficiency and sustainability.
  Training & Knowledge Transfer: Develop and deliver technical training programs for operations staff on process fundamentals, control strategies, and best practices.

Your Profile

• Minimum 10 years of dedicated experience in process engineering for water and/or wastewater treatment plants.
• Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering
• experience in water and wastewater process control, including designing control logic, tuning PID loops, and implementing advanced control systems (APC).
• Demonstrated experience working on water projects preferably in KSA or GCC countries, bringing international best practices to the role.
• Experience with KSA Water technical standards is highly preferred
• Professional proficiency in Arabic and English (both written and spoken) is a must
